RED Returns to Ray Of Light Farm!!!!

Red has returned to Ray Of Light Farm in East Haddam, CT to recuperate. He is getting stronger and healing more everyday. He threw us yet another curve when he briefly cast himself in his stall. Maybe he just wants attention and boy is he getting it!! But overall, he is almost ready for you to visit.
Please consider joining the clinic at Ray Of Light Farm given by Anna Twinney. She was Monte Robert's head trainer for 6 years and is also a Reiki Master. On the evening of July 17th, she will hold an Animal Communication Workshop so that you can learn how to tune into them. On July 18th and 19th she will hold a clinic to show you her training techniques for your horses. June 16th----Red returns to Tufts for the third time!!!

Yes, you are reading it correctly. Red has returned to Tufts for a third time. Red found a different way to have colic and it is unrelated to the first two trips in. Bonnie drove him straight to the hospital when she realized that he was in distress. In this case, his large intestine has wrapped around his spleen. The treatment required a medication to shrink the spleen so that the intestine could return to place. So far the treatment has been successful and Red may leave soon if he continues to progress. He is truly a miracle horse and has had a miraculous following with healing prayer from everywhere.

RED Leaves Tufts for the second time. LOVES Grass

Red left Tufts Large Animal Hospital for a second time. After another 10 days in the hospital, he avoided surgery and was deemed fit to travel home. Upon visiting him yesterday, I saw how happy he was to be among his friends. He certainly loves to mow down the grass and he is healing nicely. He is not on any medication, but has a very specific diet that will try to avoid any more bouts with colic. Red was glad to be home and it seems the more regular rest schedule agrees with him. We went for a walk and he showed us his small medical paddock which is moved from day to day. I will post some pictures soon so that you can see how much better he looks. Still sporting his "Mohawk Clip", the scars are starting to heal.

Today, June 4th, is a much better day for Red. Frank spent all morning with him and has reported that Red's distention has calmed down, his heart rate is down to about 40 and they've been able to remove alot of balled up hay from his stomach. Angels from all over the world are praying and sending healing energy for him. Frank says "Red would like to say Thank You!"




The pictures from this morning are during a walk that Frank and Red took and one from in the stall. The nose tube has been removed but in his stall he still wears a muzzle to stop him from sucking down the shavings. So far we've avoided the second surgery but he still has a ways to go. RED Retuns To Hospital!!--COLIC Emergency!!---June 3rd

I'm sorry to report that our boy RED has had a major setback and has returned to Tufts Large Animal Hospital. After an ultrasound, they advised surgery, but with only a 40% chance of success. It would also be another $8,500, but the bigger question was what would be better for him. We agonized all afternoon and first decided to try a new medicine for the colic. Then we decided that surgery would more quickly reveal the exact problem and we would proceed from there. We may still have to do that, but the surgeons noted he was stabilizing. Tonight, we are waiting and praying. I am also posting this letter to a wonderful friend and supporter, Anna Twinney, that describes my day. Thank you, too, for your prayers and support. Hi Anna and all the Reiki Angels,
He is a super cool boy and we might have to do another surgery. We are waiting to see how he does on a new medication, but either way we are at a 40% chance of success right now with surgery, and maybe 20% without it. I will take a break for sleep and to let him rest, but will be back with him at the hospital early tomorrow. Thanks for your support.
We were about to change our minds and do a second surgery today after deciding not to put him through that but to try a new medicine. Then we saw it working or perhaps all the Reiki, prayers and love for him started to stabilize him. Certainly the doctors tubing and attending to him have also helped. It would be great if we could get through this without another surgery. The surgery would tell us if we are dealing with adhesions or a kink in the small intestine. Ultrasound has only revealed so much to us.
These are tough decisions to know just what is best for him. The doctors can't give us a clear path, only vague statistics for comparisons. Of course, this is all happening without much sleep and alot of stress. It is hard to go through this with him, but he is such a GOOD BOY and a real trooper. You would be so proud of him as I am. It is an honor to be with him.
We are at one of the very best places on earth to give him care. Definitely very expensive (uugh), but the point remains what is best for him. Any and all insights appreciated. I may just post this as a blog entry and call it a night.
It just so happens that this morning I was at a TV taping for Fox with Sylvia Brown in NYC. While I did not speak with her I did speak with another guest who pre-taped a segment. He has been pronounced dead three times. He woke up from the first death after being struck by lightening. He found himself in a bodybag with a toetag and at the morgue. He had some amazing insights. Mostly that death is just a transition and we should not fear it. His info was timely to say the least. After giving him our book, he asked me to sign it to him and with a big bear hug said that everything would be okay. He has know Sylvia for over 30 years and has worked with 371 hospice patients helping them to cross over. Odd timing don't you think? Red Escapes From Hospital--May 22nd

Red escaped from the Tuft's large animal hospital..., with their blessing. He has many fans and admirers there and they were happy, but sad to see him leave. They did a wonderful job diagnosing, comforting him and us, getting him and us through successful surgery, managing his recovery, and sending him off with specific instructions about his care. We all learned alot and we hope to share some of those lessons and facts along the way. Currently, Red needs fastidious monitoring and care. He needs to heal and gain weight because of the surgery he went through, but his system is very fragile now and he can't take in a diet that is too ambitious.
Thankfully, he is in the loving care and confines of Ray Of Light Farm. In fact it was Bonnie, Ev and Susan that liberated him from the hospital and drove him back to the farm. While he is not ready for visitors just yet, we still need to raise money for his medical bills and care. We are committed to saving him, but it takes a village of people working and fundraising to make it possible. We have some great video of him in the hospital and many new pictures to post.
